If you wanted the latest Samsung flagship but didn’t want to pay over $1,000 for it, then you might have to opt for the base model which is the cheapest of the series. Of course, to keep the costs down, Samsung has to sacrifice certain features and materials in order to make the phone more affordable.

With the Samsung Galaxy S21, the company opted to use plastic for the rear cover of the phone, which is perfectly fine, but in the hands it doesn’t feel quite as premium compared to metal or glass. But that could change with the Samsung Galaxy S22.

There is a definite answer about the rear cover material of Galaxy S22 series: S22, S22 +, S22 ultra are all made of glass!

This is according to a tweet by Ice Universe who claims that for the Galaxy S22, which is due for a launch in the early part of 2022, Samsung will actually be giving the base Galaxy S22 model a glass back. This will put it on par with the rest of the Galaxy S22 models, like the Galaxy S22+ and the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

For those who might be concerned that this could mean we might see an increase in price, an earlier rumor suggested that Samsung could actually be maintaining the price of the Galaxy S22 to be the same as the Galaxy S21 series, so if that’s true, you would be getting a more premium-feeling phone for the same price.

Samsung still has yet to confirm when the Galaxy S22 series will launch, but we’ve heard it will most likely be in the early part of the year.
