Odell Beckham Jr.: L.A. knows where I wanted to be, but got lowest of low offers - ProFootballTalk

Word over the weekend was that wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is targeting a mid-November return to the field and Beckham cast some doubt on that return coming as a member of the Rams on Wednesday.

There’s been a lot of talk in Los Angeles about wanting Beckham back and he has a locker in the team’s facility, but no deal has come together and it doesn’t sound like one is imminent. Beckham replied to a Twitter thread reporting that he was in the Buffalo airport on Wednesday and engaged in back-and-forth with a few other users, including one who said every Rams fan wants him back.

Beckham said he hasn’t gotten the same impression from the team.

“LA knows where I wanted to be . . . but they didn’t offer me . . . ANYthing! So idk what people want me to do, I def kno my worth and what the offer was isn’t reflective of that,” Beckham wrote. “So it’s tough to say that I can come on back even tho I thought I finally found that home!”

In another tweet, Beckham wrote that he “got the lowest of low offers” from the Rams so that may mean that he’ll be wearing a new uniform once he is back on an NFL roster.

You know where your next ring resides….listen to Von, and don’t get greedy..

He helped them win a SB but they he was only there 1 year so no ties and they’ve got salary cap issues galore. Only surprising part is that he seems surprised.

This clown really thinks he’s worth big money

Well, likely back then LA was offering a full-season contract to a guy who wasn’t going to be able to compete but for the 1/3 of it. I’d hedge that contract, too, and let OBJ counter through his agent. Did he?

Now things have turned his way. We’ve got several playoff contenders that need a boost at WR and they will be willing to bid against each other for that 1/3 of a season. The Rams now need WE help just to BECOME a playoff contender. So, yeah, by way of comparison things look a lot more profitable for OVJ now then they did in the off-season.

One of the most underreported stories is what happened in Cleveland those last few weeks before he was let go. His contract was redone, so he could be a free agent after last season, but he had such a high 2023 salary (around $18M) he likely would have been free otherwise. The sad part is, if he just kept the orginal contract, he would, at worst, got a generous injury settlement.

He’ll take a lower offer to win another Super Bowl with Vin and the Bills though…

Welcome to Tampa, young man.

Pretty big gamble to give a massive payday to a guy who has blown his knee out twice. I don’t blame LA after the Todd Gurley fiasco.

This guy has been a jerk everywhere he’s been. I still remember him trying to decapitate Josh Norman. Now THAT should have been viewed as assault & battery.

Paying Allen Robinson instead of OBJ hasn’t exactly worked for the rams. In fact, if they gave obj the money, the on field performance is roughly the same since Robinson hasn’t done much. AR is the most overrated wr at this point; when was his last great year?

Probably not a smart idea to broadcast to the rest of the NFL that some teams don’t think you are worth much. I’m sure that big pay day will be along anyyyy minute now.

Overrated clown. Don’t understand why he continues to get so much coverage.

OBJ keeps hinting that he is going to Buffalo. The Bills are loaded at WR and also have great team chemistry which they won’t put in jeopardy. They manage their salary cap very well. If OBJ is looking for a big money contract, I don’t think he will get it from the Bills.

Sorry OBJ. You’re not OBJ anymore.

Someone will pay him, and it may work out. There is no doubting his talent. BUT, there is also no getting away from his recent knee injuries. Is he one more false step from a knee blowing out? Hard to break the bank with anything guaranteed on such a risk. He may get a non-guaranteed contract for decent money but nothing else would make sense.

First, he could be talking about the Chargers. 2nd, Oh contraire OBJ. My man has zero knowledge of your self worth. He made one catch in 2017 and has been a non-factor plagued with injuries since. Why should any team take a risk on glass joes?

Whatever the Rams offered him, obviously it wasn’t enough. They need to sweeten the deal. Maybe throw in a free gym membership, maybe a gift card or two, maybe even offer some remote work options.

I doubt Diggs is onboard with diva OBJ in the WR. room.

He knows his worth? Then I guess he could tell us what a few flashy plays and not being there when your team most needs you is worth.

Beckham must be the all-time example of hype not matching reality. He’s always been potential and image, and never been the difference for a team’s success.

In other words, he’s perfect for L.A..

If OBJ could play OL maybe the Rams would offer him more. The Rams are in desperate need of OL help not WR help, especially at the price OBJ is probably asking

There have been lots of WR injuries and lots of desperate teams. Baltimore comes to mind. Still no call to OBJ.

How is this dude not a Packer yet?

I love how he continues to talk as if he still is (or ever was, really) a true top flight receiver.

Ok, I’m confused – why might he think the Bills need or want him? Buffalo is already loaded at Slot & WR…….

I really don’t think the Bills need him TBH, or should give up any more $$$ in getting him. The offense is great with the WR’s they currently have on the roster. They have needs on the offensive line inside to give them some sort of a running game outside of the QB, while also needs at LB, CB and Safety given injuries.

I don’t see OBJ in a Bills uniform if he really wants to get paid. I could see him in Kansas City, New York G, Tennessee… just doesn’t really seem like the timing is right in Buffalo at this point.

Gets paid for his production, you are a 4th receiver. You’ve performed like one anyways. With the questionable attitude and drama, I’d consider that to be a great opportunity for you to raise your worth. Until then, you are only worth what someone is willing to pay and put up with

From a New York Post Article dated 08/26/22

““I feel like he’s a great teammate,” Diggs said. “I don’t live in the world of social media or anything like that, but I feel like he’s hands-down one of the best players in the league, especially when he’s been healthy. He’s a great teammate, and it’s not just that adding him would be helpful – he’s a great player and great person.”

He’s in Buffalo Airport, I can report he’s been seen briefly running into kicking nets in workout…. hearing word Buffalo coaches are passing. He was then seen running to the PortaJohn for some reason with the mascot, was told it wasn’t a part of the tryout.

Bills don’t want or need diva OBJ in their looker room or on the field.

Come to Tennessee and play with Derrick Henry

Buffalo, Kansas City, NY Giants, Dallas, Philadelphia. One of these 5 teams will land him. My money is on Kansas City or Buffalo….one year deal

Yo I think Mase said it best. Aint nuttin changed but my limp. Time to hang em up champ. Go into broadcasting, thats where your value is now.

Up next, OBJ’s father makes another compilation video. This time it will be of all his catches with the Rams. It will be posted on instagram again. The last video compilation was 11 minutes in length. This video will be 11 seconds long.

This guy is like Paladin — Have Gun Will Travel.

Odell, you’re asking the wrong question. It’s not what you think you’re worth. It’s what teams think you’re worth.

The 2022 version of OWENS and MOSS. Good enough to play. Not so much a teammate.

I’m ok with what the Bills have now. Keep walking O-BJ

Yeah, I remember that too, and it was awful to watch. I’m shocked that it doesn’t get brought up more regarding a guy who wears out his welcome wherever he’s been.
