Things to do in Evansville this weekend

Looking for something to do this weekend in the Tri-State? Here's a list of things happening in the Evansville area.

Thursday through Sunday, 8 a.m.-midnight; Sunday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Vanderburgh County 4-H Center.

The Eville Shindigs Hot Rod Kustoms and Rockabilly weekend features traditional hot rods (1972 or older), trucks and motorcycles. The weekend includes a monsters' ball costume party, tattoos, flame throwing and more.

5 to 7 p.m., Reitz Home Museum, 112 Chestnut St. in Evansville. Free.

Enjoy a glass of wine or beer in the historic setting of the Reitz's Home garden, veranda and patio. This event will feature live entertainment from The Smoke Rings.

Thursday through Sunday, 6 p.m., Rivertown Trail in Newburgh, Indiana. Tickets are $5 per person.

A nightly, self-guided tour of the woods along the red bridge of the Rivertown Trail in Newburgh. The trail will feature family-friendly ghosts, carved pumpkins and lights for the Halloween season.

6 p.m., Preston Arts Center, 2660 S Green St. in Henderson, Kentucky.

The Eykamp String Quarter's New Traditions Diversity Series kicks off its season in Henderson to honor Hispanic Heritage Month with works by underrepresented composers Carlos Paredes Gabriela, Teresa Carreno, and Heitor Villa-Lobos.

Thursday through Saturday, 7 to 10 p.m., Willard Library in Evansville. Free.

Tour guides will recount stories about the famous "Grey Lady" ghost of the library.

Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Sunday at 2 p.m. Shanklin Theatre at the University of Evansville. Tickets range from $18 to $20.

This Shakespearean play follows a 400-year-old tale that examines themes central to human nature and our paradoxical relationship to justice and mercy and reveals what happens when sex, religion and politics collide.

Friday through Sunday at Thresherman's Park, north of Boonville, Indiana. Admission is $3 for seniors, $5 for adults, and kids ages 13 and under are free.

The park will display antique tractors, steam engines, gas engines, and garden tractors with horses and mules working the field. The 1800s-era log cabin, steam-run sawmill, blacksmith shop and other attractions will be open for attendees to see. There also will be a flea market and food booths.

Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 2:30 p.m., The Crescent Room, 621 S. Cullen Avenue, Tickets are $15 per person.

The Children's Theatre of Southern Indiana presents the classic tale of a young lion prince overcoming adversaries to one day take his rightful place as King.

Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Stagetwo at 321 N. Congress Ave. Tickets are $15.

This play follows five retirement home residents that are put into "detention" for bad behavior. What's the worst that can happen?

Friday through Sunday, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Aurand Trailhead in Newburgh, Indiana. Tickets are $15.

Participants will be met by re-enactors who tell stories of Newburgh's most mysterious tales. While there will be "ghostly" actors, this is not a haunted house -- they won't be jumping out at you. 

Friday and Saturday, 6 to 10 p.m., 609 SE 2nd St, Tickets are $15

This ghost walk tour of the Riverside Historic District and Haynie's Corner Arts District features historical accounts and tales of ghost and spirit sightings.

7:30 p.m., Ford Center, Tickets range from $27 to $117.

Country artist Thomas Rhett is stopping in Evansville with special guests Parker McCollum and Conner Smith.

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Reed's Auction Barn, 10233 Indiana 662. Free.

Come celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the Evansville Stamp Club and see what goodies are up for bidding this year.

10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Downtown Henderson Main Street. Free.

Shop between 1st and Washington, where different artisans and handcrafters will be selling antiques, art and handcrafted goods. After shopping, stop at Central Park from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. where the chili cook-off with Downtown Henderson Partnership and the Henderson Police Department will be taking place.

Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., National Guard Armory in Evansville. Free.

This family-friendly event has something for everyone, from a free kids pumpkin patch to "trick or treating" to craft vendors for adults to explore and shop.

2 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friedman Park, Newburgh.

The first BarktoberFest presents an event for everyone including, four-legged friends, with nail trimmings, wash stations, dog demos and more. For kids, there will be face painting and coloring. There will be live music from Rose O'Neal, Mike Mitchell, Resurrection and The BackBeats,.

3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wesselman Woods in Evansville, Tickets range from $25 to $75

After a two-year hiatus, this autumn celebration gives guests the opportunity to enjoy special encounters with resident wildlife while savoring great food, beer and wine.

7:30 p.m., Victory Theatre in Evansville. Tickets range from $36 to $81.

Get swept up into the musical whirlwind and re-live the days of "Earth, Wind, and Fire" during the Maurice White era as this show reunites members of the EWF family to continue the tradition spanning five decades.

10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Carpenter Street from Second to Third streets in Evansville. Free.

This event has 40 vendors selling baked goods, candles, flowers and more. The first 200 children in attendance will receive a free pumpkin, and there will be free trips down a three-story slide. Live music will be provided, and Myriad Brewing Co. will host a beer garden for attendees 21 and older. Local food trucks such as Bruce Li's, Salsarita's, and JB's Barnyard will provide food options.
